Nancy Standlee Art
“TONY’S PRIDE AND JOY”
1951 GMC Truck
This truck was photographed by the artists
on a Santa Fe road trip. This acrylic painting
on nine 10” gallery wrapped canvas was
done in our signature style of an individual
square being painted by a different artist.
Nancy painted the middle square on the
right and each square is initialed by the
artist.
Canvas by Canvas is a collaborative group of Texas artists who
live in the Arlington area. Their joint business venture is based on
friendship and their love of painting and Nancy is one of the founding
members of the LLC. Our working success with all of the CEO minds
is based on the democratic process and the competency in
performance is the result of the unity of working together after the
vote. Because of peer pressure, we have learned much about
technology and how to work together effectively, compromise and
adjust our opinions and this is a continual process.
CBC members take road trips, photography ops, and painting retreats,
lots of lunches, and some members can be found painting together at
our rented studio space at The Upstairs Gallery.
In 2007, we produced 35 large acrylic paintings that have won several
awards that are documented on our company website and we were
on a TV show, “The Art of Living”. In 2008 and 2009 we are finding
more opportunities to display and market our fine art. It means many
things when you are a member of a Texas collaborative art group.

Road trips may find you forgot to
bring... “forget yer hat, wear yer
Cuddleduds!”
Ignore the posted signs and “get the best
shot regardless”
Peer pressure demands a Sandia Peak
tram ride and “just ignore the sway”
CBC road trips mean a chance to rent a lake
house and spend a long weekend painting
for a deadline and taking turns preparing the
meals.
Sometimes it means catching a plane and
staying in a casita on Canyon Road and
visiting galleries and churches and
experiencing great Mexican food.
